Urban Bicycle Route - Aranjuez

ARANJUEZ

This experience takes you to know the World Heritage City of Aranjuez, its main monuments and its wines.

An easy and accessible route for all levels

Aranjuez can be easily reached by train from the city of Madrid or spend the night before in one of the many and varied accommodations offered by the city. This is a suggested urban route to discover Aranjuez and all its touristic richness. Aranjuez, whose cultural landscape is one of the elements inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, occupies a privileged place among the tourist destinations of the Community of Madrid. In Aranjuez, you cannot miss the Royal Palace, the Gardens, the Royal Falúas Museum or the Casa del Labrador among other resources. The first stop on this route takes us to the Royal Palace, which was chosen by the Bourbons to establish their residence in the spring. Visiting it allows us to get an idea of what the daily life of the royal families was like. We continue to enjoy Aranjuez and head to the next stop, La Casa de Caballeros y Oficios, which was designed by Juan Herrera (1584) and Gómez Mora (1767). It occupies the western side of the Mariblanca square, to which it opens its beautiful arcades.

The next stop takes us four kilometers from Aranjuez, where the Real Cortijo de San Isidro stands, a neoclassical settlement with royal quarters and a vast farmland that Carlos III ordered to be built in order to exploit the land agriculturally and activate the area. You can take the opportunity to taste the wines of the winery that bears the name of the Cortijo.

Continue pedaling, and back towards Aranjuez to reach the end of the stage, on the way do not miss the opportunity to visit the Casa de Marinos or Museo de Fáluas Reales located within the Jardín del Príncipe.
