In Manzanares el Real you can not miss the Castillo de Los Mendoza. Apart from its monuments and the charm of its urban center, this town is the gateway to La Pedriza, a large granitic batholith with an important geological, scenic and sporting interest.
This route takes you across rivers and through breathtaking landscapes to the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, a mountain range that divides the Castilian plateau in two.
In San Lorenzo de El Escorial, in addition to its Monastery, you can visit its historic center and many other heritage resources that are part of a destination inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
